The programme will provide mission delegates with a range of group meetings in both markets with senior officials from the relevant rail and metro authorities linked to significant on-going and planned projects.
Singapore, plans to double its metro (MRT) system network by 2030, in total spending around £30bn on infrastructure projects. After the projects announced are delivered, Singapore will have four new railway lines and extensions to several others. The 43km long Thomson East Coast Line is under construction, construction will start soon on the final stage of the Circle Line and the 20km long Jurong Region Line and 50km long Cross Island Line are still at advanced engineering design stages.
Other areas of opportunity include a High Speed Rail line between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur by 2026, including its Assets Company (for rolling stock, trackwork, signalling, power and telecommunications systems) to be tendered by end 2017, a Rapid Transit Link between Singapore and Johor Bahru in Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur’s three major new MRT Lines, the 37km long LRT 3 system in the Klang Valley and clients’ Asset Management and Condition Monitoring requirements.
The mission is timed for the week before AusRail Plus 2017 to allow UK companies the possibility of attending both events.
