About techUK

techUK represents the UK technology industry. With more than 900 companies as members of techUK, collectively, our members employ more than 700,000 people, about half of all tech jobs in the UK. techUK members include large FTSE 100 companies, SMEs as well as innovative start-ups. techUK works to help its members and the technology sector grow.

We help our members and the sector grow by:

  • Developing markets: We identify and advance innovation opportunities domestically and abroad.
  • Developing relationships and networks: We help our members broaden their networks and build relevant connections with potential customers, partners and suppliers.
  • Reducing business costs and risks: We work with our members and partners to identify and shape key policy issues that optimize our industry’s economic potential – both domestically and overseas – and help reduce costs and risks associated with international trade.

techUK Programmes

techUK runs a range of programmes and special interest groups to keep members informed regarding market developments and new business opportunities, to engage in UK tech policy work, and to help them develop their networks with the buyers and end-users of technology in the UK and overseas markets.

International Trade Programme

techUK’s International Trade Programme works with stakeholders across the UK Government as well as with our partners around the globe on representing the tech sector in trade-related matters and seeks to expand opportunities for business growth.

Key objectives of techUK’s International Trade Programme include:

  • Accessing export opportunities: Members receive practical support on ways to enter new international markets for the first time as well as for continued growth opportunities.
  • Understanding the case for inward investment: We help international companies understand the case for developing their presence in the UK and facilitate this growth.
  • Influencing trade policy: Our members work with techUK to shape the government’s agenda on trade in non-EU countries (alongside our work on the EU), particularly with key strategic international markets well-aligned to the strengths of the UK tech industry.
