Working alongside the UKABC Chairman and Board of Directors, the UK-ASEAN Business Council has an executive team based in Westminster.

Ross Hunter

Ross was appointed Executive Director of the UK-ASEAN Business Council in September 2013. Prior to taking up this position he has held a variety of roles across government including: heading up UK Trade & Investment’s Sponsorship Team; serving as a diplomat in Kuwait, Iraq and South Africa; and working as a Private Secretary for two different government ministers.

Allen Lai

Allen has almost 20 years of experience working on geopolitical trade related platforms in Asia. Prior to joining UKABC, he was involved in the planning, development, and execution of the APEC CEO Summit, the Asia Pacific’s largest business event.

Allen will be looking to create further opportunities and value for our partners. Coming from Brunei, he is very familiar with Southeast Asia and looks forward to furthering the UK-ASEAN business relationship.

Paul North

Paul is an experienced Executive Business Manager with a wealth of experience in international markets from having worked and lived in the Middle East for more than 30 years. His previous role was with the Department for International Trade (formerly UK Trade & Investment), heading up the Overseas Business Network Initiative in the East Midlands. He was developing and supporting a global network of business-led partner organisations to offer a wide range of high-quality support in key markets, particularly Southeast Asia, for exporting companies.

Veronica Lake

Born in the Philippines, Veronica has always had a vivid interest in Southeast Asia. She was previously involved in organising conferences, meetings, and events for a major industrial association based in Italy. Over the past five years, she travelled extensively in Southeast Asia before starting her role as a Project Manager for a DMC based in London where she developed her expertise and strengthened her network of contacts.

 

Ken Wells

Ken’s role at UKABC is to develop both Corporate and Small-Medium Enterprise Partnerships.  He has previously worked successfully with companies of all sizes during his 30-year international business career. Ken has joined UKABC from BT Global Services where he held senior market and development roles – including corporate change programmes that took in the ASEAN region.  His other Asia-related work involved leading the acquisition of European computer and managed network partners for Telehouse Europe; setting-up BT Worldwide India; and conducting research into potential options for economic change in the central Pacific.  Ken also has early career experience in education and international publishing.

Daniel Walder

Born in London, England, Daniel has always had a keen interest in International Marketing, Economics and specifically the growth of the economies in Southeast Asia after witnessing rapid property and infrastructure development in places such as Thailand and Vietnam. He was previously involved in organising marketing campaigns for both digital marketing agencies and a range of companies in various industry sectors.
